Who are we?
Serengeti Communications is a full service, digital (really, we don’t mess around with that term) agency.  We understand the New Internet.  We help our clients understand it, embrace it, mine it, and nurture it.

Where did we come from?
We started as RedBoots Consulting in 2001.  Back then, we were typical Internet Cowboys with a cattle drive mentality and a flair for search marketing.  We got a bit smarter over the years as we figured out that 1.) Google is not the Internet; 2.) the cattle now control the ranch.

Our Philosophy
We believe that the New Internet is a complex ecosystem that offers both risk and opportunity; however, the rules of engagement have changed.  Consumers have become content creators, publishers, and influencers in the online space.  As a result, organizations no longer control “the message” or their brands.  Agencies cannot help their clients navigate the New Internet without understanding the laws of the land, which are:

  1. Connect. Consumers trust each other more than they trust advertisers.  In fact, they increasingly tune out marketing messages.  Organizations must understand how to talk with consumers, not just at them.  An agency that doesn’t know how to listen to the voice of the customer can’t help you.
  2. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.  Email, search, social media, mobile - a new channel pops up every day.  The question is how to make all of those disparate channels work together.  Focusing on the parts instead of the whole creates siloes that blur your vision and derail your efforts.
  3. Be flexible.  The climate is volatile on the Plain.  Be prepared to shift direction and dollars on the fly.  This is what it takes to become an event driven marketing organization.  This is what it takes to win the ROI game.
  4. Hone your tracking skills.  Going with your gut may feed your inner Indiana Jones, but we’ve found that a strong grasp of the facts is the best starting point for inspiration.
